Reese Witherspoon and Ryan Reynolds to Star in Biopic ‘Big Eyes’

The 1960s “big eyes” artists are making on to the big screen.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Tim Burton Productions and Electric City Entertainment signed Reese Witherspoon and Ryan Reynolds to star in the indie biopic of the lives of artists Margaret and Walter Keane.

The Keanes were best known for the portraits and paintings with “big eyes.” Controversy ensued after conflicts between the husband and wife on that started the trend of the big-eyed paintings, in which eventually lead to a divorce and court battles over these paintings.

Witherspoon will portray the talented painter Margaret Keane and Reynolds will play Walter Keane who tried to claimed credit for the big-eyed artworks.

“We are estatic to have this dream cast for our dream projecd,” said Scott Alexander and Larry Karaszewski, the writers and directors of the film.

Karaszewski and Alexander worked together on film projects such as “The People Vs. Larry Flynt,” and “Man on the Moon.”

The producers will be Tim Burton in his own production company with Lynette Howell and Jamie Patricof from Electric City.

Witherspoon will be seen in the upcoming romantic action comedy “This Means War.” Reynolds will be in the action film “Safe House” next month.
