Ready or not. Hasbro will be making another “Transformers” film.

ComingSoon.net caught up with “Transformers” producer Lorenzo Di Bonaventura at the Hasbro event for Paramount’s “G.I. Joe: Retaliation” and got some juicy details about the next robot movie.

“We’ll be there in the summer of 2014,” Di Bonaventura confirmed.

As for director Michael Bay returning to the director’s chair, it sounds like it’s still up in the air.

“Michael had a debate because he sort of felt at first that he’d done three,” he explained. “Michael and I are both the same in that we always like to top ourselves. That doesn’t necessarily mean bigger. It can be bigger in places, it just means different, but we’re going to push really hard as fresh and new as we can be.”

Di Bonaventura did mention that the new sequel may be similar to the “G.I. Joe” sequel in which only having a few characters returning with a new plotline and not necessarily rebooting the entire franchise.

“Again, we’re going to try to do a hybrid there where there will be some characters that come forward—we think, we’re still in the process of figuring it out—and some characters that don’t, but it will definitely be a different story,” he said.

The producer also confirmed the action film sequel “RED 2,” will beginning to shoot in the fall, but would not elaborate the details on the project. And there is a work-in-progress for a sequel to “Salt,” but they will wait until actress Angelina Jolie is ready to do another film.
