Juno Temple to Join Cast of Disney’s ‘Maleficent’

The last pixie fairy has been cast.

Actress Juno Temple will join the cast of Walt Disney’s live-action retelling of the cartoon classic “Malificent.” She will play one of the three pixie fairies who will protect Princess Aurora in the forest. The other two fairies will be played by Imelda Staunton (“Vera Drake”) and Lesley Manville (“Another Year”).

Temple will be Thistlewit, the neglectful and superficial fairy.

The actress will join the cast that already included Angelina Jolie as Maleficent and Elle Fanning as Aurora. Other cast members included Sharlto Copley, Miranda Richardson, Kenneth Cranham and Sam Riley.

“Maleficent” is a retelling of the fairy tale in the perspective of the witch.

Temple will be seen in the upcoming films “The Dark Knight Rises” and “Lovelace” later this year.

The movie will begin shooting this summer in London.
