Damon Lindelof Hired to Rewrite ‘World War Z’

Paramount Pictures just lost a major battle and hopefully not the entire war.

The studio hired screenwriter Damon Lindelof in its last minute efforts to save the zombie picture “World War Z.” Some of the production is completed, but the studio’s aim for significant reshoots in September.

Due to this rewrite, the theatrical release date was pushed back from December 2012 to June 21st next year.

Brad Pitt is in the starring role in the zombie pic based on the novel by Max Brooks. It also stars Mireille Enos, James Badge Dale and Anthony Mackie.

Lindelof is best known as the co-creator for the television show “Lost.” He co-wrote the screenplays to “Cowboys & Aliens” and “Prometheus.”
