Samuel L. Jackson Joining Cast of ‘Robocop’ Remake

I buy that for a dollar.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, veteran actor Samuel L. Jackson is joining the cast of Sony’s remake of “Robocop.”

He will join Joel Kinnaman (“The Killing”) who will play the cop Alex Murphy and later becomes the half-man half-cyborg officer Robocop. Gary Oldman also joined the cast as the scientist who created Robocop.

Jackson will play Pat Novak, a very charismatic media mogul executive.

He was recently since in this summer’s blockbuster hit “Marvel’s The Avengers.” And he’ll be appearing as a villain in the upcoming Quentin Tarantino-directed “Django Unchained.”

“Robocop” remake will begin shooting in Toronto around September with a theater release date towards next summer.
