“Horrible Bosses” Writers John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein Tapped to Helm New “Vacation” Movie
New Line Cinema hired the writing duo John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein to direct the sequel/reboot “Vacation.”
Daley was an actor who appeared in the television shows “Freaks and Geeks” and “Kitchen Confidential.” He teamed up with Goldstein to write the script for last year’s comedy hit “Horrible Bosses.” Goldstein worked on several television shows including “The New Adventures of Old Christine,” “Four Kings” and “$#*! My Dad Says.”
David Dobkin (“Wedding Crashers”) was originally attached to the project, but has moved on to other projects, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The new movie follows a grown up Rusty Griswold, who was the son of Chevy Chase’s character in the original “Vacation” series, on his own crazy family vacation.
The “Vacation” series started with the 1983’s Harold Ramis-directed comedy “National Lampoon’s Vacation.” It spawned three more sequels with “European Vacation,” “Christmas Vacation,” and “Vegas Vacation.”
