Mia Wasikowska in Negotiations to Replace Emma Stone in ‘Crimson Peak’

MiaWasikowskaCroppedAs Emma Stone departs Guillermo del Toro’s gothic horror “Crimson Peak,” TheWrap scooped that actress Mia Wasikowska is in talks with Legendary Pictures to replace her.

Stone dropped out due to scheduling conflicts last month. However, TheWrap also reported the parties are also trying to work with Wasikowska’s schedules too.

Wasikowska will play a young author who later uncovers that “her charming new husband is not who he appears to be.”

Benedict Cumberbatch and Charlie Hunnam are set to play roles in the movie as aristocratic siblings.

Del Toro wrote the haunted thriller with Matthew Robbins and Lucinda Coxon. Production is expected to begin next year.

The actress was best known for her role in 2010’s “Alice in Wonderland.” She was recently seen earlier this year in Chan-wook Park’s thriller “Stoker.”
