Miles Teller talks “Fantastic Four” Casting Rumors

fantastic-four-la-10-2-13Miles Teller (Footloose) was rumored to be in talks to join the franchise reboot of “Fantastic Four” that will be helmed by “Chronicle” director Josh Trank. Fandango caught up with the rising star at the Savannah Film Festival, where he confirmed the rumors. When asked about “FF,” the actor candidly said, “If that happens, if everything works out, then I will be pretty pumped. But then I’ll also be working for… it’s like seven months out of your year. Which is not a bad problem.”

Teller is on a shortlist of other young stars said to also include Kit Harrington (Game of Thrones), Michael B. Jordan (Fruitvale Station), Saoirse Ronan (Hanna), Kate Mara (House of Cards), and Samira Wiley (Orange is The New Black)- who we spoke to about this possibility last week- that 20th Century Fox is looking to secure for the reboot. The role Teller is rumored to be vying for is none other “Mr. Fantastic” himself, Reed Richards. The only complication is his involvement as one of the leads in the “Divergent” series of films. The first one premieres next March, with the sequel planned to go before cameras in April, so his schedule could very well kill his chances of joining “FF.”

“Fantastic Four” is set for a March 6, 2015 premiere- where it will be part of a blockbuster year that also includes “The Avengers,” “Batman vs Superman,” “Star Wars: Episode VII,” “Jurassic World,” and others.

What do you think of them going so young with Reed Richards? Teller is in his mid-twenties but looks like a teenager. Do you have faith Trank’s reboot?
