A few movies will be on Blu-ray and DVD this week. The best picks will be cop movie “End of Watch,” and the drama “The Paperboy.” And for the direct-to-DVD movies will include action sequel flicks “Death Race 3: Inferno” and “Universal Soldier: Day of Reckoning.”
End of Watch

Death Race 3: Inferno
Synopsis: Death Race 3 will take place in a different prison in Africa, where the iconic character Frankenstein (played by Luke Goss) has to race his fellow prisoners in all newly designed and newly build “Death Race Cars.”

Universal Soldier: Day of Reckoning
Synopsis: John wakes up from a coma to discover his wife and daughter were slaughtered in a brutal home invasion. Haunted by images of the attack, he vows to kill the man responsible, Luc Deveraux. While John tries to piece his reality back together, things get more complicated when he is pursued by a relentless UniSol. As John gets closer to Deveraux and the rouge army of genetically enhanced warriors led by back-from-the-dead leader Andrew Scott, John discovers more about himself and begins to call into question everything he believed to be true.

Fat Kid Rules the World
Synopsis: TROY BILLINGS is fat. His life sucks. He’s about to end it all by jumping in front of a bus, when MARCUS MACRAE, a charismatic punk rock superstar, tackles him to the ground and changes his life forever.
Set against the backdrop of the Seattle music scene, FAT KID RULES THE WORLD is a coming-of-age story about two dysfunctional teenagers searching for something more out of their completely hopeless existence.
Brief Review: “Fat Kid Rules the World” is a good adaptation of the K.L. Going’s young adult novel. The movie is very interesting about two unlikely friends that come together to form a band in Seattle. There are moments of surprising hilarious parts and the drama tackles many teenage issues well. It marks as a great directorial debut for actor Matthew Lillard. B-
