As expected, actor William Fichtner admitted he will be playing the coveted bad guy role in the upcoming “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” movie. He signed on to the cast a month ago, but his role wasn’t revealed at the time.
During a telephone interview with HuffPost TV, he thought it was time to come out of the shadows.
“I play Shredder. It is cool. It's one of those things that came along where I thought, "Really? Let me think about this for a minute." [Laughs] Then I was like, "Yeah, OK, this sounds like a journey." I'm very glad that it worked out, I'm really glad that I'm doing it.”
He will also be playing the villain in next month’s “The Lone Ranger” as Butch Cavendish. The veteran thespian will also appear in the sci-fi “Elysium” and star in the upcoming television show “Crossing Lines” as Carl Hickman.
Fichtner is a great choice to play Shredder. Who else was he going to play after he signed on to this project?
“Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” is currently in production and is scheduled to be released next year on June 6.
