Fans waiting anxiously for the first Amazing Spider-Man 2 trailer don't have much longer to wait. The film's official twitter account announced today that the world premiere unveiling of the trailer will take place on December 5. Aside from some footage that made the rounds after Comic Con earlier this year, all we've seen so far are still images from the upcoming sequel to Marc Webb's reboot. Sony clearly has high hopes for the film- with a desire for more sequels and spin-offs- so we can expect a trailer that strives to please the masses.
Will it clarify what the tone of the film will be? Some fans are nervous, having sensed a Joel Schumacher Batman Forever vibe from some of what's been seen so far. Will it clarify exactly which threats Spidey will be facing? Rumors have circulated about an ever-expanding roster of antagonists making appearances in the film.
We'll find out December 5.
Onto another Marvel property. It's now being reported that the comic book character, Crossbones, may have an expanded presence in Captain America: The Winter Soldier. We all ready know that Frank Grillo (Warrior) is playing Crossbones's unmasked alter ego, Brock Rumlow, in the film. In a conversation with Crave Online about the possibility of more appearances for the character, and how the film actually serves as a setup for a whole series of films for Cap, Grillo had this to say:
"Yeah, yeah, yeah. It’s an origin film. You meet people who are going to be around for a while, so they introduce the characters. It’s almost like it’s a [TV] series. It’s fun. I can’t say very much about it because Marvel’s very strict about what you’re allowed to say."
On whether there are specific plans for Brock/Crossbones, the actor would only say:
"They do, actually. We’ll see what happens. We’ll see if the fans respond to Brock and how it goes."
What do you think, cool kids? Would you want to see an expanded Crossbones presence in future Cap movies? Are you excited about the idea that we meet several new Marvel characters in this film (like Falcon), and that they'll get beefed up roles in the movies to come?
