The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are back. And they do look like turtles of old, but more CGI and better facial impressions.
Paramount Pictures opened up CinemaCon with a bang by revealing a very short teaser trailer for “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.” Latino-Review was in attendance at CinemaCon.
The storyline was revealed it to be an origin story as William Fichtner as Shredder describes about restoring justice in a crime-ridden city. His Shredder costume was also revealed in the teaser trailer and said that he created the Turtles. Megan Fox was in the signature yellow jacket as news reporter April O’Neil. In one scene, she was recording some ninja action with her camera phone. Alas, she still looked like Megan Fox than the short-haired depiction of April O’Neil.
The action and humor had the same feel as the 1990’s film. So if you like that one, you won’t be disappointed. The action trailer will be shown hopefully next month in theaters and online.
For the presentation, funnyman Will Arnett showed up with his friend, David Cross, on the Segway machines. An obviously plug to “Arrested Development.”
“A year ago action film living legend Michael Bay set out to produce a new installment to a classic franchise,” said Arnett in a serious note to the CinemaCon attendees. “Teenage Mutant NinA daunting task given the rabid fan base. He knew it had to be done.”
Then he turned his presentation into a hilarious joke, “The story of Leonardo, Raphael, Michelangelo and Donatello as four vigilante ninja turtles with kick-butt capabilities. Oh, wait. What is this movie about? I’m sorry. I thought this movie was about Megan Fox falling in love with me as I talk to a tennis ball and the end of a stick on a green stage.”
And, yes Arnett is in the movie as Vernon Fenwick, April O’Neil’s cameraman and friend.
So do expect a trailer to be released soon.
“Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” is set to be in theaters on August 8 later this year.
