2015 Spirit Awards Results

On the eve of 2015 Academy Awards, the Film Independent’s Spirit Awards took place in Santa Monica honoring the independent films of the industry.

Best Picture was given to “Birdman” along with Best Male Lead to Michael Keaton in the movie. Julianne Moore received Best Female Lead.

Richard Linklater won Best Director for “Boyhood” and the Best Screenplay went to Dan Gilroy’s “Nightcrawler.”

As for Supporting Roles, Patricia Arquette won it for “Boyhood” and J.K. Simmons in “Whiplash.”

Spirit Awards may be a good indicator towards Sunday night’s Oscars ceremony as the awards weekend continues.
