Alfonso Cuarón And Casey Affleck To Team Up For Horror Series

According to Deadline, Oscar winning actor Casey Affleck (Manchester by the Sea) and director Alfonso Cuarón (Gravity) have teamed up for a new series that is being shopped around Hollywood. While not much is known about the nature of the series, the show is believed to be a horror story about the beginnings of a cult.

The pair are currently pitching the series to cable and streaming networks, and have reportedly even garnered some interest, which is very promising.

Affleck will star in the series as well as executive produce, and Cuarón will write, direct, and executive produce. If the series makes it to air, this will be Affleck’s first venture into the world of television (he shot a few episodes for HBO on the series Lewis and Clark, but production was shut down) however Cuarón created the 2014 series Believe, and also directed the show’s pilot.

I have always enjoyed Cuarón’s work, and he is responsible for what is probably my favorite film in the Harry Potter series, The Prisoner of Azkaban. If the show is indeed of the horror genre I would like to see Cuarón have a go at it.
