It looks like Kara Zor-El will not be the only super-powered Kryptonian refugee we get to see when Supergirl flies to a TV near you via the CBS network. The Hollywood Reporter has revealed that the series has just cast an actor who is set to play a recurring role in the DC Comics show, and it’s a character most mainstream audiences are familiar with.

According to THR, Chris Vance (Transporter: The Series) will recur on the CBS series as the villainous Non. Non was first introduced to mainstream audiences in Richard Donner’s Superman: The Movie, and then again in Superman II, where he was part of a trio of Kryptonian villains that also included General Zod and Ursa. In their report, they state that Non will be Supergirl’s (Melissa Benoist) “greatest threat.” So it looks like Non is your big baddie for Season One, folks.

The report also describes the character as “a former scientist in a league with the House of El. Non is a brutal Kryptonian military officer who is sinister, powerful and angry. He’s the antithesis of all things Supergirl stands for.
