Beloved, best-selling comic book series “Mouse Guard” is about to get the big screen treatment, and the project has already locked in some major talent. Matt Reeves, the man responsible for CLOVERFIELD and the latter two modern PLANET OF THE APES movies, will sit in the director’s chair, while Gary Whitta (ROGUE ONE: A STAR WARS STORY, BOOK OF ELI) will be writing it.
The Hollywood Reporter has brought to light that the production will utilize groundbreaking technology from the APES franchise, as well as the tools Jon Favreau used to make THE JUNGLE BOOK, to bring MOUSE GUARD vividly to life.
“In the world of Mouse Guard, mice struggle to live safely and prosper amongst harsh conditions
and a host of predators. Thus the Mouse Guard was formed: more than just soldiers, they are guides for common mice looking to journey without confrontation from one village to another.
They see to their duty with fearless dedication so that they may not simply exist, but truly live.”
