Back in the day, when a prominent cast member left TV shows, chances were good that you’d never see them again. However, nowadays, even when regulars leave, chances are you’ll still be seeing them for the occasional important landmark episode or series finale. Oftentimes, these characters are too integral to the stories to disappear entirely from the canon, so it helps when they’re able to do this.

Last season saw the departure of long-time Arrow star Emily Bett Rickards, who plays Felicity Smoak. Oddly enough, she left during the Season 7 finale, and as such, it’s been unclear whether or not she’d actually be returning at any point during the final season.

Now, star Stephen Amell has taken to social media to share that Rickards will indeed be returning, saying:

“There’ll be a lot of news coming out about our final episode over the next few months. I prefer when you hear it from us. Welcome back Emily.”

It is unclear how prominent she will be in the finale, but this will undoubtedly give fans some great closure regarding her character and her relationship with Oliver Queen.
