Disney continues to churn out these live-action remakes like hotcakes. They did The Jungle Book and Cinderella, but neither of them had the same expectations behind them as Beauty and the Beast. Sure, they’re all based on Disney classic animated movies, but there is a definite amount of prestige that Beauty and the Beast has above the other two. In addition to being a staple of this generation’s childhood, the film was also nominated for Best Picture Oscar — something that rarely ever happens in this industry.
For those who’ve been looking for that film to get brought to life in live-action form, this one certainly looks to be a dream come true. Between the production design, costumes, visual effects, and perhaps most importantly, the amazing cast, it looks like Disney is bringing in all the right ingredients to make this one faithful adaptation.
Now, if you needed any further evidence, Disney has just dropped 12 — that’s right, 12 — character posters, along with several motion posters. In addition to the expected Belle and Beast one-sheets, we also have one for Beast’s Prince form, and every single supporting character under the sun, including the human versions of the live household appliances that populate Beast’s castle. Given the amount of emphasis the advertising seems to be giving the human forms of these character, one has to wonder if they’ll be given a whole lot more screen time than in the original animated film. Or maybe Disney expects that pushing the actors will help get adults to the big screen. Who knows, right?

The synopsis for Beauty and the Beast is as follows:
“Disney’s Beauty and the Beast is a live-action re-telling of the studio’s animated classic which refashions the classic characters from the tale as old as time for a contemporary audience, staying true to the original music while updating the score with several new songs. Beauty and the Beast is the fantastic journey of Belle, a bright, beautiful and independent young woman who is taken prisoner by a beast in his castle. Despite her fears, she befriends the castle’s enchanted staff and learns to look beyond the Beast’s hideous exterior and realize the kind heart and soul of the true Prince within.”
