BETTER CALL SAUL: Season 3 Extended Sneak Preview And Bryan Cranston's Possible Return To The Franchise

– by Drew Carlton

Last week we were given a 30 second clip featuring the return of Giancarlo Esposito's Gus Fring in a Los Pollos Hermanos "commercial" spot. Yesterday however, the fans of the show were gifted a full 3 minutes of the upcoming season. The trailer is called "Crisis Averted" and it references Kim's (Rhea Seehorn) conversation with Jimmy aka Saul Goodman (Bob Odenkirk), or perhaps it is the unreleased title of the first episode. Check it out:

Normally, at this time of the year we would all be highly anticipating the start of Better Call Saul, Fargo, and in a few months Game Of Thrones, but unfortunately all have been delayed for various reasons. Instead, we have to wait until April 10th for Better Call Saul, mid-April for Fargo and Summer for Game Of Thrones, leaving a void for a few months with only the 2nd half of CW shows, Gotham, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Vikings, and perhaps The Blacklist to entertain us.

In many ways this is a huge bummer, but at least we get to reflect on the shows and speculate about what is to come.

One thing that Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul fans have always wondered was if Bryan Cranston would either reprise his role (from Breaking Bad) in Better Call Saul, or be affiliated with the show in some part. As it turns out, Cranston definitely wants to, as he interviewed with TVGUIDE on this subject.

"I have been asked to direct an episode of Better Call Saul every year that they've been on the air... with my schedule it just hasn't worked out, but I'm a huge fan of the show and of [creators] Vince Gilligan and Peter Gould, of course, and I would love to direct an episode."

Cranston also made a point to comment about making a cameo on Better Call Saul:

"I'd also be in one if Vince Gilligan thought it was a good idea to do that, to pay homage to the milieu that Breaking Bad started. We'll see if it can work out. It depends on when they get picked up for another season and what their schedule is. We don't know yet. Stay tuned."

So, Cranston wants to direct a show, and he is up for making a cameo. With his ongoing and rising starpower, I would expect this to happen at some point in time.

Here is the "Chicken King" video featuring Giancarlo Esposito as Gus Fring, and below are promo and set pictures from the upcoming season of Better Call Saul. Enjoy!

I know the sneak peek was a little slow, but does it still excite you for the upcoming season? Will Victor complete the "guy, that knows a guy, that knows a guy" scenario and show up? Would you like to see an inane accidental grocery story meeting of Saul and Walt?
