Billboard: Red Carpet Interviews with Eric Roberts Heather Matarazzo and Director Zeke Zelker

People will do anything just to win something on the radio.

Inspired by radio contests, Billboard follows a group of people who will camp in front of a large billboard in order to win a radio contest.

The film used unique marketing experiences to accompany the feature film, including a full cine-experience with web series and digital radio station.

Director Zeke Zelker wrote and helmed Billboard under his iDreamMachine production banner in partnership with Paladin. The film stars John Robinson (Lords of Dogtown), Heather Matarazzo (Welcome to the Dollhouse), Eric Roberts (The Dark Knight), Leo Fitzpatrick (Bully), Darlene Cates (What’s Eating Gilbert Grapes) and Oakes Fegley (Pete’s Dragon).

Here’s the synopsis:

In Billboard, Casey Lindeweiler (Robinson) inherits WTYT 960 from his legendary radioman father only to discover that it’s on the brink of financial collapse. To right the sinking ship, Casey pulls out the oldest trick in radio, the wacky contest. His grand plan is to host a billboard sitting contest where four people will live on a catwalk in front of a billboard for the chance of winning a mobile home and $96,000. Unprepared for the spotlight, Casey rises to the challenge of running a business but is faced with relentless attacks from his competition (Roberts), the local authorities, the media, and mother nature herself. Casey struggles to keep his father’s legacy alive while fighting to stay independent.

The film opened this weekend in Los Angeles and Philadelphia and will roll out into more markets starting next weekend.
