The CW just released a brand new poster for their upcoming series, Black Lightning.

This new poster shows off the title character in all his lightning-y glory in a high contrast poster. The dark yellow colors are juxtaposed against a black background, and the whole thing is washed out to give this sort of acid-like look. While I’m still not quite sold on the outfit of Black Lightning, I will say he looks pretty great in this poster.

Black Lightning joins The CW’s many other DC characters that include the Green Arrow, The Flash, the Legends of Tomorrow, and Supergirl. However, as of right now, Black Lightning is expected to exist in his own little pocket universe outside of the Arrowverse. Once the show proves that it can stand up on its own, there’s a chance it could get incorporated, but it’s not guarantee.

“Black Lightning centers on Jefferson Pierce. He made his choice: He hung up the suit and his secret identity years ago, but with a daughter hellbent on justice and a star student being recruited by a local gang, he’ll be pulled back into the fight as the wanted vigilante and DC legend Black Lightning”

Black Lightning is set to premiere on Tuesday, January 16 at 9/8c on The CW.
