'BLADER RUNNER' Sequel: Film Adds Carla Juri to the Cast

– by Joseph Medina

The long-gestating BLADE RUNNER sequel has just added another talented actor to its cast. According to THR, the film has cast Swedish actress Carla Juri in an unknown role. This specter of the unknown is pretty much par for the course for the film so far, as actual details regarding the plot and characters are still virtually nonexistent.

Juri isn't necessarily a familiar name to American film fans, as a good portion of those films were made in Germany. Among those films was 2014's WETLANDS, a film coined as a WTF NSFW dramedy.

If you want to see the trailer for that film, check it out below, but beware, even the trailer is a bit NSFW.

Juri will be joining the cast of Ryan Gosling, Harrison Ford, Robin Wright, Ana de Armas, Sylvia Hoeks and Dave Bautista. The film is scheduled to begin shooting this July with an expected release date of October 2017.

Denis Villenueve -- director of such films as PRISONERS and SICARIO -- is on board to direct. Normally, revisiting such a beloved film such as BLADE RUNNER would largely be considered a bad idea, but given Villenueve's track record, we could be in for a real treat.

What do you think of Carla Juri joining the cast. Have you had a chance to check out any of her movies? Let us know in the comments down below!

BLADE RUNNER 2 hits theaters October 6, 2017.
