Captain America: Civil War was a film that was full of surprises. From the interesting political questions it posed, to the believable personal struggles and fantastic battles, it was a flick that delivered on almost every front. Of course, one of the big scenes often talked about is the airport scene, wherein the Avengers faced off against one another in an epic, 17-minute long fight.

The battle could’ve been a bore. 17 minutes is a lot of time to spend on the fight, but the writers and directors, Christopher Markus & Stephen McFeely and Russo Brothers, respectively, were careful to give the fight a three-act structure. So instead of mindless fighting, there was a true feeling of progression throughout.

Bringing up the tail end of the second act of that fight, they needed one final game-changing twist to take things to the next level before the ending it all. Luckily, they had Ant-Man in their arsenal.

The character surprised many moviegoers when he reversed his abilities and transformed into Giant Man. It was a crowd-pleasing scene, and one that was unexpected even to those in the know.

Marvel has now released a portion of a featurette focusing on Giant Man. Check it out below!

Needless to say, this scene did a lot to get me excited about Ant-Man’s next outing in 2018 with Ant-Man and the Wasp.
