Junkie XL, the man enlisted by Hans Zimmer to collaborate with him on the score for Man of Steel and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, is now about to leap into another comic book movie. It’s for another company (Marvel), and it’s an entirely different studio (20th Century Fox). Also different this time around? Looks like he won’t be sharing a credit with Zimmer, as XL seemingly takes the reins for Marvel’s Deadpool all by himself.

Junkie XL, or Tom Holkenborg- as his mommy calls him- has been all over the place when it comes to comic properties as of late, actually. He also worked on a Marvel film for Sony! Which one? The Amazing Spider-Man 2, where he once again collaborated with Zimmer and others from the Man of Steel score. So it looks like XL has become quite an in-demand commodity when it comes to providing music for blockbuster superhero flicks.

Here’s how he revealed to the world that Deadpool was next on his docket:

At this rate, maybe Mr. Holkenborg will make himself one of the quintessential names when it comes to creating superhero scores- alongside the likes of Zimmer and Alan Silvestri.

Deadpool has all kinds of positive buzz around it, so now we’ll just have to wait and see if Junkie XL will help elevate the film to become the all-time fanboy classic it has the potential to be. We’ll find out when the film comes out next year on February 12.
