Creed 2 Reportedly To Begin Shooting Early Next Year

A couple years back, audiences got to see Rocky Balboa hit the big screen again. However, it wasn’t in another Rocky film, but rather a spinoff film called Creed. The film followed the offspring of Apollo Creed, Adonis, and his own struggles to make it big in the boxing world.

The film was a huge hit, both financially and critically. It catapulted director Ryan Coogler to A-list status and had a performance that left Sly Stallone with a Best Supporting Actor nomination at the Oscars.

A sequel is incoming, and thanks to a new listing from My Entertainment World, we may have an idea of when it’s actually coming. According to the site, Creed 2 is set to begin production on February 5, 2018.

It’s very important to note that as of this writing, the film still has no director. However, with Black Panther set to hit theaters on February 16, 2018, it’s very possible that Coogler can still jump on the production, especially since he’s the one who kickstarted this new franchise.

Originally, the studio wanted to get out a Creed 2 film by November of 2017, and it was because of that reason that Coogler was unsure about his involvement. However, with that now out of the picture, and with him wrapping up Black Panther, we may very well see Coogler return to the fold yet again.

What do you think? Do you want to see Coogler return to helm the Sylvester Stallone-written Creed 2? Let us know your thoughts down below!
