Rob Liefeld seems to be living the dream right now. Last year, he got to see one of his creations hit the big screen in surprising fashion in the action-comedy film Deadpool, and next year, he gets to see a couple more of his creations, Cable and Domino join the Merc with the Mouth in his latest adventure.

Liefeld recently got to visit the set of the anticipated Deadpool 2, and while there, he managed to snap a photo with one of the film’s stars Josh Brolin, who portrays Cable in the film. Liefeld took to social media to post the meeting, writing:

“CABLE!! Say what?? I’m going to actually meet him in the flesh and blood(and steel coils)?? And, oh, by the way, he’s one of your favorite and one of the most talented actors of all space and time! Yeah, I dare you to try and meet one of your own creations and not get umpteen butterflies in your stomach. I don’t remember anything that was said here besides me thinking ‘I’m meeting CABLE!! HOW AWESOME IS THIS?!?!’ Mr. Josh Brolin could not be more perfect in this role. He is amazing and outstanding and you will no doubt be as giddy as I was when watching him portray Cable. His commitment to becoming Cable goes beyond his physical transformation, he found the voice that fans will go crazy about! Ryan as Deadpool and Josh as Cable. Look out World this is going to be nuts!”

We have to say, meeting your creation would indeed be a surreal and exciting experience — especially when said creation is a time-traveling mutant Cyborg. Who’d’ve thought that’d ever get the big screen treatment?

Deadpool 2 hits theaters on June 1, 2018.

Of course we’re excited. Sequels sometimes mean more of the same and that cannot live up to the original. However, if Cable was extraordinarily well cast as Brolin seems to be, then his character will provide that same kind of joy we had in seeing a perfect Deadpool being brought to life.

I don’t think a better story could ever be made of Deadpool being written as “Ryan Reynolds crossed with a Sher-Pei” and having Ryan Reynolds finding the character, somehow liking him, and somehow gaining this passion and determination to get a proper Deadpool filmed. Reynolds can ad-lib Deadpool’s specific brand of humour at anytime on Twitter and it’s amazing.

cute, but still Liefeld is such a scam artist and never works on his craft
