Deadpool 2: T.J. Miller Reveals Possible Weasel And Dopinder Storyline

In case you missed that teaser trailer on Logan, everyone’s favorite Merc with the Mouth is set to return when Deadpool 2 arrives in 2018. The first film featured mutants Colossus (Stefan Kapicic) and Negasonic Teenage Warhead (Brianna Hildebrand), who aided Deadpool in his quest, and also appeared to be the sole residents of the X-Mansion. The sequel will feature the first big screen appearance of two other classic mutants, Zazie Beetz as Domino and Josh Brolin as Cable.  Even with these exciting additions, let us never forget Deadpool’s non-superpowered pals from the first movie, specifically Weasel (T.J. Miller) and cab driver Dopinder (Karan Soni). They too had a role to play in helping Deadpool finally kill Ajax…or Francis, rather.

Screen Rant asked Miller what we can expect from Weasel in Deadpool 2, and he revealed a potential storyline he shares with Dopinder:

“We’re shooting in August and September and it’s going to be even more Weaselicious … the cab driver, Karan Soni, and Weasel have a pretty funny storyline, which I’m not positive is going to be in [the movie], but they were talking about it and it was really making me laugh. And I like him, I did Office Christmas Party with him, and he’s very funny, very quick and so — because we didn’t cross paths in the original film … so y’know [fans can expect] stuff like that. I think they’re really building out the world and deciding kind of what’s next.”

What exactly will bring these two characters, who never met in the first film, together? Well… Deadpool, obviously. But, is Dopinder on the wrong side of the law in the sequel, after locking his romantic rival in the trunk before getting rear-ended in the first film? Does Weasel grow tired of hanging around superfolk, and goes looking for another regular human being with less morals than most, yet the power of sight (sorry, Blind Al)? Whatever the case, one hopes this mysterious storyline makes it into the finished film, as these two characters would be amazing to watch play off each other.

What do you think of a pairing of Weasel and Dopinder? Do these two side characters deserve their own storyline? What antics would you like to see them get into? Let us know in the comment section below!
