Did You Happen To Catch This Easter Egg In THE FLASH CW Series?

Gotta love your Easter eggs in popular media. Oftentimes they’re little nods to the comics or inside jokes that only those who have been following the characters for years will recognize. Though occasionally, there are some Easter eggs that don’t really fall into either of those categories. I’d say this one very much is one of those, so if you were hoping for some sort of insightful nod to the Flash canon, then prepare to be disappointed.

In an interview with TV Insider, Grant Gustin revealed a strange little inside joke that crew has been putting in the show since Season 1:

“…No one seems to notice that we have a rubber duck that we’ve fit into almost every single scene in the police station. We have been doing it since early in Season 1. Sometimes it’s in an evidence bag that a cop is carrying.”

The Flash is a couple short months away from returning to the CW, and when it does, audiences will be jumping head-first into the Flashpoint storyline, wherein Barry has to deal with the consequences of a very stupid decision he made in the closing minutes of Season 2. Needless to say, this one is bound to be more than a bit of a doozy, as it will also mark the return of a certain villain from Barry’s past.

But through all this chaos and mayhem we’ll be facing during the Season 3 opener, I guess I’ll have to keep an eye out for those damn rubber ducks in the police station.

The Flash returns to the CW on October 4 at 8/7c.
