Disney To Open Its STAR WARS LAND Attraction In Time For EPISODE IX!

If you love amusement parks, and you love Star Wars, then you’ve likely been on the edge of your seat wondering when Disney is going to finally open the section of its Orlando resort that’s dedicated to that galaxy far, far away. Yesterday, they announced that their Star Wars Land attraction will open in 2019, the same year that the New Trilogy comes to a close!

Yes, the same year that we get to witness the exciting conclusion to the newest set of Skywalker Saga films with Colin Trevorrow’s Star Wars: Episode IX, we’ll be able to start traveling to Orlando to immerse ourselves in that universe. One of the hottest attractions will be the ability to sit in the cockpit of the Millennium Falcon and “fly” that beloved bucket of bolts.

There was some concern that the wait for Star Wars Land‘s 14-acre expansion of Disney World would drag on for several years. We can now rest assured that we’re only two years away from the park opening up and becoming the premiere destination for Star Wars fans from around the world to come and get their Jedi on.

I, for one, can’t wait. Between that, and the Harry Potter attraction at Universal, I may just have to make Orlando an annual pilgrimage for myself.
