D.J. Caruso in Talks to Helm next ‘G.I. Joe’ Movie

Yo, Joe!

After director Jon M. Chu abandoned the third installment of “G.I. Joe” film, Hasbro and Paramount are in negotiations with D.J. Caruso to direct the next film.

Caruso directed “Disturbia,” “Eagle Eye” and “I Am Number Four” in the past few years. He’ll be a good matched for this action-packed movie.

It’s not clear on which characters may return since most of them didn’t return for a sequel. However, it’s probably a safe bet that Dwayne Johnson will return as Roadblock.

Lorenzo di Bonaventura will return in the producing role with Hasbro’s Brian Goldner.

Chu left last year to direct another animated cartoon-turn-action movie with “Jem and the Holograms.” Martin Campbell’s name mentioned mid-year, but it never went anywhere during the talks.
