Considering that Wonder Woman is about half a month away from its release, one would expect there to be a bit more interest in the zeitgeist. Sadly, as of this point, a lot of enthusiasm still seems to be lingering for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, which just finished up its second weekend in North America, and its third weekend in many foreign markets.

But don’t count this film down and out yet. This is likely a very deliberate strategy. No point in letting Wonder Woman get lost in the Marvel Studios enthusiasm, right? Let’s just hope this series of recently-released trailers actually make themselves known to the mainstream audiences. This latest piece comes in the form of a Chinese trailer. While it’s a similarly-made compilation of scenes, there does seem to be a decent amount of new footage to check out.

Among some of the numerous shots is one with Diana facing off against an assailant on top of a train. Could this be the film’s big bad Ares, or is it some other unknown entity? You can see the point around 46 seconds into the trailer. While Warner Bros. has made no secret about Ares’ involvement, they’ve definitely managed to keep him off the big screen itself, which is probably for the best. When last we saw too much of a film, it came in the form of that awful second trailer for Batman v Superman, where it showed the third act villain. Given how much criticism that trailer faced, we’re sure Warner Bros. is gun-shy about repeating their mistakes.

Below is the official synopsis for Wonder Woman:

“Before she was Wonder Woman, she was Diana, princess of the Amazons, trained to be an unconquerable warrior. Raised on a sheltered island paradise, when an American pilot crashes on their shores and tells of a massive conflict raging in the outside world, Diana leaves her home, convinced she can stop the threat. Fighting alongside man in a war to end all wars, Diana will discover her full powers… and her true destiny.”
