Post Guardians Of The Galaxy Dave Bautista is on absolute FIRE! Like scorching! We exclusively broke last year that he was playing the assassin Mr. Hinx in the twenty fourth Bond film Spectre and now we found out what he is doing after that films wraps.

Bautista is going to play the bad ass barbarian role of THE KURGAN in Summit's Highlander reboot for visual effects artist turned first time director Cedric Nicolas-Troyan.  The original Highlander, released back in 1986, starred Christopher Lambert as Connor MacLeod, an immortal Scottish swordsman who, after centuries of dueling to survive against others like him, is forced to confront one final foe: the Kurgan, a murderously brutal barbarian who lusts for the prize that comes with being the last immortal. The movie spawned numerous sequels and a tv-show.

Clancy Brown rocked the role in the original Highlander and made it memorable. Director Cedric Nicolas Troyan is on the record saying...

We have to find that younger emerging guy, and surround him with a strong Kurgan, and an actor who shines as Ramirez the way Connery did in that film film.

Looks like they found their guy. Still got no word on who is playing Connor MacLeod. Ryan Reynolds was originally attached but dropped out. Pretty cool news. I loved the movie growing up and the original's hot soundtrack by Queen. Every time I drive on the 59th street bridge passing Silvercup studios (the finale of the original was shot on the roof) I think about the original film. What do you folks think? Chime in below and keep the comments clean or else I'll behead ya!
