Flashpoint: Jeffrey Dean Morgan Doesn’t Think Flashpoint Batman Will Be In Upcoming Film Anymore

If the DC Extended Universe (now being coined as the Worlds of DC) has proven anything, it’s that things can change at any given moment. It was clear early on that director Zack Snyder had an overall vision of what this universe would be, and in the years since his time at the helm, Warner Bros. has seen the whole thing slowly flip.

The tide started to turn with Suicide Squad, and it continued to do so with Justice League, with it turning out as more of a Frankenstein’s Monster of a film than we had hoped for. But what does this mean for movies like Flashpoint? Surely, they’ll still give us some iteration of that classic comic storyline, right? This means we may be able to see Thomas Wayne take on the cowl, right? Maybe not.

Speaking with MTV, actor Jeffrey Dean Morgan (who played Thomas Wayne in Batman v Superman) said he doesn’t think the character will be in the Flash-focused film:

“When Zack Snyder was involved in the DC world more, I think that there was a real possibility. But now that he’s kind of stepped away a little bit, I’ve heard different things, that Flashpoint might not be going in that direction, it will be more of an origin story for Flash.”

So what does this mean, exactly? Does it mean the Flashpoint film won’t be a Flashpoint film at all, and will instead be an origin Flash movie, or does it mean that they’ll morph Flashpoint into a story that doubles as kind of an origin for the character? I’m inclined to think the former, but with this universe, you never know.

What do you think of this news? Do you think we’ll actually be getting a Flashpoint film now? Let us know your thoughts down below!
