I can’t wait to see the comments on this one…

Seeing the overwhelmingly positive buzz that the female-centric Ghostbusters reboot has created, Sony has decided it also wants a female 21 Jump Street spinoff.

According to Tracking Board, Sony has hired Lucia Aniello and Paul Downs to script that will mirror the tongue-in-cheek tone of the Channing Tatum/Jonah Hill series but be led by female characters. If they’re going that way, then Aniello and Downs make a lot of sense. They’re best known for the acclaimed Comedy Central series Broad City. That series is lead by Abbi Jacobson and Ilana Glazer, and follows the misadventures two single girls in NYC.

This comes a few weeks after news broke that Sony was going to move forward with a third film in the Jump Street series with Tatum and Hill.
