A story we'd been tracking for a while has finally been confirmed by Geoff Johns of DC Films. In last night's DC Films: Dawn of The Justice League special, Johns revealed what we'd mentioned months ago: In Justice League, and its subsequent off-spring, we can expect the participation of not just one Green Lantern but the entire Green Lantern Corps!
"We've been to the bottom of the ocean. We've been to ancient Greek mythology, we've been to the past and future with the Flash, we've been to the digital world with Cyborg. We still got to go to space. So the Green Lanterns and the Green Lantern Corps are coming to join the Justice League universe."
Here's the video of the reveal, which includes some nifty Lantern imagery:
The original murmurs we'd heard concluded that the Corps will be involved, but that the main two Green Lanterns that'd be getting the bulk of the screen time will be Hal Jordan (of course), and John Stewart. I still believe this will be the case, as having the entire Corps show up for Justice League might be overkill for a film that already features so many other A-List superheroes. My guess is we'll see Jordan and Stewart, be made aware of the scope of the Corps, and then get to see the entire group when Green Lantern Corps comes out in 2020.
Exciting times, eh?
