You gotta love the fact that we live in an age where fans are able to communicate so freely with their favorite directors–even directors of the biggest films in Hollywood. While some producers like to break news through Facebook (I’m looking at you, Vin Diesel), there are some who prefer to do so through Twitter. Our friend James Gunn falls in the latter category, especially as of late, where he’s given updates regarding next year’s opus GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 2.

One of the bigger mysteries coming out of the first film was the question of who Peter Quill’s father was. From day one, we’ve heard rumors left and right about who Daddy Quill would be played by (and most recently, Kurt Russell was rumored), though there have been no official confirmations from anyone at Marvel, nor Gunn himself. However, in a recent answer to a Twitter follower, Gunn revealed that he has already cast not only the main villain of the film, but Peter Quill’s dad as well.

So rumor mills, begin your churning on just who these two actors are. And those of you who are trying to guess who Star-Lord’s father is based on the comic books, it’s probably best that you stop trying now, as Gunn has stated (once again) that he’s deviating from the source material on that front.

But is Daddy Quill perhaps a different name from the GUARDIANS canon, or someone different altogether? Gunn was unfortunately mum on that front.

In addition to these confirmations, Gunn also dropped the following tidbits:

• He knows what’s going down in AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR, and they talk about it all the time
• He would be open to directing a non-GUARDIANS Marvel film, but confirmed that if so, it would not be CAPTAIN MARVEL nor THE INHUMANS
• It took him a year to get the initial draft of the GUARDIANS 2 script done
• The only restrictions Marvel has given him have been due to budgetary concerns
