GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 2: James Gunn Shares New BTS Photos Of New Gang Of Ravagers

While no one outside of the Hall H GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY panel at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con will get to see the footage (in HD, at least), director James Gunn was not shy about releasing extra details he revealed. In an extensive Facebook post from Gunn, he pretty much broke down all the big pieces of news he dropped. One of them had to do with KURT RUSSELL’S ROLE IN THE FILM, and another had to do with a familiar group of outlaws from the first GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY film, the Ravagers.

When we last saw the gang of bandits, they were led by Yondu, who had let Peter Quill after the latter man didn’t give the former man one of the Infinity Stones. Gunn went into greater detail in his post as he described the panel.

“Most were on hand for the SDCC presentation, disrupting the proceedings as Ravagers are prone to do. We learn that they’ve had a somewhat contentious, even mutinous, relationship with Yondu since VOL. 1, due to the fact that Yondu let Peter Quill go without reprisal after not giving them the orb.

The leader in all of these shenanigans is the incredibly-powerful yet incredibly ridiculously-named TASERFACE, played by Chris Sullivan (it’s worth noting that four years ago when I was hired for the first GUARDIANS film, I joked that I was going to make Taserface my villain. I suppose it’s no longer a joke).

Joining Chris in full Ravager regalia, was, of course, Sean Gunn as Kraglin, as well as these new Ravagers, all featured in the film:

Wretch, played by Evan Jones
Half-Nut, played by Jimmy Urine
Brahl, played by Stephen Blackehart
Gef the Ravager, played by Steve Agee
Oblo, played by Joe Fria
Narblik, play by Terence Rosemore”

Below are all those Ravagers and more as shown in an Instagram post from Gunn.

It’s nice to see that Yondu’s fatherly affection for Peter Quill will have some serious consequences, though considering how powerful Yondu’s ability is, it’s a wonder just how much trouble this motley crew can cause for him.

GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 2 hits theaters on May 5, 2017.
