‘GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 2’: James Gunn Teases Mantis in Storyboard

James Gunn certainly loves to give updates on his films via social media. Definitely the most of any Marvel director. He was at it again on Wednesday when he posted a shot of a storyboard frame for GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 2

Of course, the big thing of note in the photo was the “somewhat obvious” childlike drawing of Mantis, a character played by French actress Pom Klementieff, who is set to make her debut in the film (pictured at the top of the article).

Another thing of note is when one of Gunn’s followers asked if a storyboard artist usually goes in and cleans up the sketches. Gunn responded:

“Most directors don’t do what I do, at least around these parts. Some of the storyboards are cleaned up by artists, others are turned into animated storyboards, and some remain as are.”

Nothing groundbreaking, but it’s always pretty cool to take a peek behind the curtain of theproduction process every once in a while.

What do you think of the sketch? Let us know your thoughts down below!

GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 2 hits theaters on May 5, 2017.
