Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is looming closer and closer, and the Marvel and Disney promotional departments are hard at work making sure we are all drooling by the time it arrives. This is not necessary for me, as at the end of the first installment, when the scroll came up that read, “Guardians of the Galaxy Will Return,” I have been drooling ever since then. This has caused problems at work, but that is neither here nor there. The important issue here is that a new TV spot was released and we bring it to you now.

Basically, what I can read into this tv spot is that The Guardians are completely outnumbered, and have no hope to survive. Drax suggests, “We need new odds.” Then we see a boatload of action scenes, and quite a bit of footage of Yondu fighting alongside the team. Something terrible must have happened between him and The Ravagers, either that or by acquiring his fin (mohawk) perhaps it brought a level of goodness back into him. Who knows, but we do not have much longer to wait before we find out.

The clip ends with Nebula conversing with Gamora, and Nebula not quite understanding the name of Gamora’s team as she quips, “Here you stand a hero, a garden of the galaxy.” Gamora sarcastically replies, “GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY, why would we be the gardens of the galaxy?” With sadface, Nebula simply says, “Oh.”

Funny stuff! Every clip I see gets me more and more interested in the James Gunn directed film, who incidentally has now become my favorite director.

Additionally, Disney XD is putting out a promotional 12 episode series, around 2 minutes long each, where Rocket and Adult Groot are attempting to find a new ship after wrecking the Milano. I am not sure how this relates to the movie, but you can check it out here, and more clips will roll out on the Disney XD app starting on March 27 until the full set premiers on April 10th.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.2 hits the theaters on May 5, 2017
