Guillermo del Toro Drops Out of ‘Beauty’

After one live-action “Beauty and the Beast” live-action film gets a director—another movie loses a director.

Director Guillermo del Toro withdrew his name from “Beauty,” the live-action film of “Beauty and the Beast” from Warner Brothers. This is not to be confused with director Bill Condon joining Disney’s live-action production of “Beauty and the Beast” earlier this month.

WB is looking for a new director and it seems del Toro dropped out due to other commitments. He is currently directing “Crimson Peak,” a haunted house film

According to deadline, del Toro will still be part of the production in some capacity. Emma Watson is still starring in this version of the movie.
