Has Euron Grejoy Actor Just Revealed Spoilers For Game Of Thrones Season 7?

Euron Grejoy is a character who first appeared on screen in Game of Thrones Season 6, and although he did not get as much screen time as other major characters, he certainly made quite an impact on the show; pushing out his own family (literally) to ensure he was left as the chosen leader of the Iron Born.

The question many fans had was how much bigger his role may be in Season 7 of the hit HBO show. After all, he is still the man in charge of the Iron Born and he did tell his people they would build a thousand ships to go out and make their place in the world. So what is next for Grejoy in Game of Thrones Season 7?

We know that his Niece and Nephew, Yara and Theon Greyjoy, have offered their services (and most of Euron’s fleet of ships) to Daenerys Targaryen so that she may ferry her armies across the Narrow Sea to Westeros. This was something that Euron himself had planned to do, though in return he wanted a marriage which would put him one step closer to the coveted Iron Throne.

With Daenerys seemingly having no need for him, would Euron turn to current occupant of the Iron Throne Cersei Lannister? It would seem that the two thoroughly despicable characters are well suited to one another, though we would not imagine this pairing having a happy ending.

Well, it seems that actor Pilou Asbaek, who plays Euron in the mega show, shared his own thoughts on the season ahead with Entertainment Weekly. For those wishing to know nothing of the new season… Warning ahead!

Asbaek told the outlet:

“For Euron, the question is, ‘Who gives me the best odds? Is it the dragon mother? no. Is it with Cersei? I think it is. Dany is still trying to be a good, decent, honest person. Cersei sold her soul many years ago. Maybe that’s why Euron likes the idea of her.”

It’s certainly something I think most fans of the show would have guessed was going to happen. After all, Cersei has enemies on all sides, Euron has no one who needs him other than newly crowned Queen, so it’s a match made in Hell, but the idea of Cersei and Euron working in harmony without attempting to double cross one another at every turn is one that seems highly unlikely. Either way, it looks like Euron may have a big role to play in the fate of Westeros after all!
