Big game hunting here in L.A. and I'm hearing from sources that Michelle MacLaren, one of televisions most in demand directors (Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones, & Walking Dead) is the top contender to direct "Wonder Woman" for Warners Bros. Pictures.
In the past day Punisher: War Zone director Lexi Alexander has been pretty vocal about why she wouldn't direct the project and that she pretty much knew who Warner Bros. has hired for the gig. Warner's have made it known that they were searching for a female director, and hopefully they have found it with MacLaren.
"Wonder Woman" is based on the DC Comics superheroine created by William Moulton Marston. The character first appears in All Star Comics #8 (December 1941).
The project is being written by Michael Goldenberg and is set to hit theaters on June 23, 2017.
UPDATE: According to THR, Jennifer Kent and Lesli Linka Glatter are also in the contention for "Wonder Woman."
