International 'Hercules' Trailer: Dwayne Johnson Is Not Afraid

– by L-R

The latest trailer for Brett Ratner's Hercules is by far the best one. And no, we're not talking about the serious domestic one that debuted early Tuesday. The latest is an international trailer, which besides having a sense of humor, also gives us a taste of other characters who will appear in the movie, you know. Check it out below.

Based on Radical Comics’ Hercules by Steve Moore, this ensemble-action film is a revisionist take on the classic myth, Hercules. Dwayne Johnson stars as the Greek hero. Here's an official synopsis of the movie:

“Everyone knows the legend of Hercules and his twelve labors. Our story begins after the labors, and after the legend…Haunted by a sin from his past, Hercules has become a mercenary.  Along with five faithful companions, he travels ancient Greece selling his services for gold and using his legendary reputation to intimidate enemies.  But when the benevolent ruler of Thrace and his daughter seek Hercules’ help to defeat a savage and terrifying warlord, Hercules finds that in order for good to triumph and justice to prevail… he must again become the hero he once was… he must embrace his own myth… he must be Hercules.”

The latest trailer isn't as serious as the ones we've seen before. Previously, Johnson's Hercules was the only one doing the ass-kicking, but this time, co-star Ian McShane gets a few good action scenes of his own, including some good laughs. Check it out:

Hercules opens on July 25. The film also stars Joseph Fiennes, Ian McShane, Rufus Sewell, Ian McShane, Rebecca Ferguson, Aksel Hennie and John Hurt.
