Jason Momoa Says Lack Of Carbs Can Make You Dumb

I think sometimes we fans don’t realize the physicality that goes into making movies, especially if a fit body is a big part of your character. While we sit in the theater munching down on popcorn, candy, and slurping down some soda, it’s easy to forget what goes into playing a superhero. Jason Momoa, who plays Aquaman in DC’s upcoming Justice League, recently spoke with Access Hollywood, and talked about how being the shirtless guy in a movie, isn’t all it’s cracked up to be:

“I really hope and I talk to the AD’s [assistant directors], I’m like ‘please keep it tight together’ you know what I mean, try to keep the shirtless days close together cause you’ve got to…you’re not eating any carbs, you’re dreaming about pasta and hamburgers, and s**t, yeah man, and it’s tough. And I’m a big fan of Guinness, and so it’s tough, I got to stop everything, and train hard, which I don’t mind training hard, it’s just when you don’t have carbs, you’re just dumb.”

Yes, Mr. Momoa, that Guinness will get you. Momoa likely experienced similar situations on the set of Game of Thrones, as I can’t remember Khal Drogo ever wearing a shirt. It is nice of the assistant directors to do their best to schedule the shirtless days as close as they can. While his physique isn’t the only reason he gets roles, it is definitely a factor, so Momoa is likely somewhat used to this problem.
