Justice League Producer Says Ben Affleck ‘Planning’ On Playing Batman Again

Here we go. It’s impossible to get one piece of news regarding Ben Affleck’s future in the DCEU without getting another piece of potentially-contradictory information immediately after. Earlier today, we reported on a rumor that The Batman director Matt Reeves has someone in place should Ben Affleck resign as Batman himself.

Now, speaking to CBR, Justice League producer Charles Roven spoke regarding the possibility of Ben Affleck not playing the character in the upcoming Batman standalone film.

Here’s what he had to say:

“I’m not producing that movie, Matt Reeves is working on that, but I do work with Ben, so I know that he’s certainly planning on starring in that film, but I don’t know what the script is. I’m not producing that movie, so I’m probably the wrong guy to ask.”

Sadly, this doesn’t necessarily put us in a better place than before. At the end of the day, even Roven acknowledges that he’s not the guy to ask. That being said, if there was someone who would know better than the general public, it’s someone who’d worked alongside Affleck for Justice League.

All in all, it seems like everything in the DCEU can change on a dime, so we may as well strap ourselves in and go along for the ride.

Justice League hits theaters tonight!
