Justice League Will Not Be Undergoing Massive Reshoots, Despite Rumors

A couple days ago, there were some rumors circulating the web that Justice League has undergone massive reshoots, that there were even more massive reshoots coming up, and that it would essentially lead to the film being remade twice before hitting theaters. This would certainly follow the narrative of constant studio interference on the part of Warner Bros., as we saw in both Batman v Superman and Suicide Squad.

But is it true? TheWrap is reporting that their own sources are telling them conflicting information. According to the outlet, the production has standard pickups planned for the summer, but they have yet to actually shot any to date, let alone extensive ones.

The source stated:

“There has been no additional photography to date on Justice League, we have planned and will shoot additional pickups early summer. Additional photography has always been planned like most pictures in general but certainly for a tentpole of Justice League’s size and scope.”

Of course, the source is indeed correct. Reshoots and pickups have become a normal part of big blockbuster films for the past several years, so reshoots are hardly a big deal at this point. The initial report even acknowledged as such. That being said, the question always becomes just HOW EXTENSIVE will these reshoots be? It’s on these facts that our opinions and excitement should hinge. The problem is that no one can seem to agree on how extensive the reshoots are.

It’s in Warner Bros.’ best interest to downplay rumors like this, but as far as we can tell from TheWrap report, their information comes from multiple inside sources, not from a studio rep. So who can we trust at this point? Hell if we know. Those who were especially burned by Batman v Superman and Suicide Squad are more likely to believe the more negative rumors, but we can’t let ourselves get carried away just yet.

We’ll just have to keep an eye out on the reshoots for Justice League in coming months. What do you think? Do you believe rumors surrounding Justice League, or do you believe it was all overblown? Let us know your thoughts down below!

Justice League hits theaters on November 17, 2017.
