Oh yeah! Just one more week until the CW superhero shows start returning from their mid-season break, giving us some fun shows to add to the dismal viewing available now. In fact, all I have to watch now is Taboo, The Blacklist, Vikings, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Gotham (I do not even want to talk about that return, and am curious if I will stick with it), and Homeland. So adding four series will be much needed for my entertainment world.
Supergirl has it's ups and downs, and while I loved the first season, I am nervous about the adding of a large superhero team, like the other CW shows do. We now have Superman, Mon-El, Kryptonite-Suit Alex Danvers, Jionn J'onzz in a more prolific role with his powers, James Olsen as The Guardian, and M'gann M'orzz will make an appearance next week. I liked Supergirl much better when it was just her, with Martian Manhunter in hiding, but even that being said, I still enjoy what they give us.
The often bug-eyed Kevin Smith will be directing next week's episode, and in a promotional attempt, went to Instagram to give us a preview of an alien race, The Maaldorians. I did not remember them from any DC book, and with good reason, they are a brand new creation by the writing team on Supergirl. I assume Greg Berlanti and Andrew Kreisberg (the two main developers) are behind this, but I would not doubt if Smith had at least some part. Check them out!
To me they look like something out of a Star Trek TOS episode, but I have learned to trust Smith with his directing, and Berlanti with everything else.
Supergirl airs on Jan. 23rd with the title being called, "Supergirl Lives."
Are you guys ready for Supergirl and the three other CW DC shows to return? Do you like the new lineup? Can you think of anything else I can add to my viewing list? Speak up!
