Kevin Smith Teases New TV Show Of Nostalgic Property

Post-heart attack, Kevin Smith seems to be on fire with his career. He’s got Jay and Silent Bob Reboot coming out this fall, which sounds like it will have many a celebrity gracing its runtime, and now it sounds like he’ll be showrunning a new series. The filmmaker announced as such in the opening minutes of the latest episode of Fatman Beyond.

“It’s very big,” Smith said of the project. “It’s much bigger than us. In so many f***ing ways…it’s a total fan service project, one could say.” The “us” in question is him and his co-host Marc Bernardin, who will be serving as a writer on the project along with Supergirl writer Eric Carrasco. But what will the project be? The only word he uses to describe it is “nostalgic.”

Smith also went on to tease fans with a bunch of nothing details like, “we met with our boss, but we can’t tell where he’s from. And then we have our other bosses, but we can’t tell you where they’re from.” So basically, we have no real details, other than it’s a property that may tickle your childhood.

With it being Smith, I can’t tell if this is a property that will appeal more to people in HIS generation, or if it’s something someone from the ’90s would also like. A part of me is hoping for some ’90s love, though I think I’d be looking to the wrong filmmaker for that.
