Kevin Smith To Direct An Episode Of SUPERGIRL In Season 2!

Near the end of the spring TV season, film director Kevin Smith threw his hat in the TV director ring when he took on an episode of THE FLASH. Months earlier, back when he first learned that King Shark had made his way onto the show at the tail end of one episode, he finally decided to give the show a chance and binged it all too quickly.

Smith made his love for the series well known to the public through his numerous podcasts, and it was that love that eventually landed him the gig to direct an episode of THE FLASH in Season 2. The name of the episode he directed was “The Runaway Dinosaur,” and it was met with positive reactions by fans.

Smith has since gone on to say that he’ll be returning to direct an episode of Season 3 of THE FLASH, but it looks like that won’t be the only CW show he’ll be lending a hand to.

Smith recently took to FAT MAN ON BATMAN, his YouTube show/podcast to announce that he’d be directing an episode of Season 2 of SUPERGIRL as well.

Here’s what he had to say:

“They just announced today at CW’s presentation at the TCA that a certain hockey jersey-wearing, baseball cap subverting large man is going to be directing an episode of SUPERGIRL, and that person is me, proving once again that if you just tell people in life what you want, it’ll happen. I literally just mentioned out loud just a few months ago at this point. I was like, ‘I’d love to direct an episode of SUPERGIRL.’ And guess what happened? Now I’m directing an episode of SUPERGIRL. Thrilling.

“I’m gonna do that for everything. Watch this sh*t. I’d love to direct an episode of GAME OF THRONES (Waits. Nothing happens). F**k. Well, you know what? It takes time. It took time with SUPERGIRL.”

Ever the self-deprecating filmmaker, Smith went on to express his love for the show and pretty much spoil everything in the past season up to this point. If you’re not one to care for spoilers, I highly recommend taking a look at the announcement video above (so long as you aren’t offended by a mountain of F-bombs). There’s no word yet on what episode, but we’re sure there’ll be more news as it develops.
