Kingsman 2 Promo: A New Mission, A New Wardrobe

Kingsman: The Secret Service brought back something to the spy genre that I thought was long gone. In an age where Skyfall was deathly serious, and Jason Bourne was the standard of what one could expect from such a flick, Kingsman was a breath of fresh air. It brought back the idea of a true gentlemen spy, and surrounded it with a ridiculous, over-the-top world with megalomaniacal villains, hyper-violent action, and baddies with swords for legs.

We couldn’t get enough Kingsman, and because of that, we were all the more thrilled when it turned out that we’d be getting a sequel with Kingsman: The Golden Circle. But with a sequel, they would need to do something more than just “more action,” or “another mission.” The solution was to destroy the home base of Kingsman, and send them abroad to the good ol’ U.S. of A, where everything is perfect and both political parties work in tandem for the betterment of the people. It’s here that we’ll be given some heavy doses of Americana. Between setting the Statesman’s HQ at a whiskey distillery, we see them wielding whips, sporting cowboy hats, and rocking the cowboy aesthetic.

So far, we’ve had one major teaser trailer, but today, the luxury menswear company Mr Porter has teamed up with Kingsman: The Golden Circle to bring us another short promo. In it, the new suits and aesthetic of both the Kingsman and Statesman are highlighted. This new promo is another instance of another fittingly appropriate marketing partnership. The other major partner was Old Forester, who is producing the Kingsman whiskey that will likely be front and center of the movie.

The official synopsis for Kingsman: The Golden Circle is below:

“With their headquarters destroyed and the world held hostage, members of Kingsman find new allies when they discover a spy organization in the United States known as Statesman. In an adventure that tests their strength and wits, the elite secret agents from both sides of the pond band together to battle a ruthless enemy and save the day, something that’s becoming a bit of a habit for Eggsy.”

We can’t wait to see another actual trailer for the flick. With the film’s September release just around the corner, it can’t be much longer.
